매그놀리아벌새는 코스타리카와 파나마 서부의 고지대(해발 1,000~2,200m)에 서식하는 극소형 벌새입니다. 수컷은 밝은 자홍빛 목 반점이 특징인 중앙아메리카 고지대 고유종입니다.
