소형 벌새로 체장 약 8cm이며, 수컷은 초록 윗면에 흰색 꽁지를 갖는다. 파나마 서부와 코스타리카 태평양 경사면 숲에 서식하는 고유종이다. 꽃의 꿀을 빨아 먹는다. 관심 필요 종이다.
