소개
소형 하와이 꿀새로 체장 약 10cm이며, 수컷은 선명한 황록색, 암컷은 흐릿한 녹색을 띤다. 마우이섬 동부 습윤 숲에만 서식하는 극히 희귀한 하와이 고유종이다. 꽃의 꿀과 작은 절지동물을 먹는다. 서식지 소실과 조류 말라리아로 인해 매우 위급한 위기 상태에 처해 있다.
