소개

검은가슴꽃따기새는 수컷이 특유의 넓은 검은 가슴 띠와 밝은 붉은 머리 반점을 보이는 필리핀 파나이·네그로스 섬 고유의 소형 조류이다. 원시림·키 큰 이차림에 서식하며 겨우살이 장과류·소형 과일·꿀을 먹는다. 제한된 섬 분포에서의 산림 벌채는 장기적인 위협이 된다.
