소개

황갈색-갈색 몸통, 어두운 갈색 등, 엷은 황갈색 아랫면, 밤색 목깃을 가진 중형 홍따오기. 인도네시아에서 호주·태평양 섬까지 열대 습지에 서식. 매우 사회적이고 유목성. 얕은 담수에서 수면 채이기와 잠수로 채이며 먹이를 구한다.
