검은이마무화과앵무는 선명한 녹색 깃털, 검은 이마, 무화과 씨앗 추출에 특화된 짧고 튼튼한 부리를 가진 소형 앵무이다. 북부 뉴기니의 저지 열대우림과 숲 가장자리에 서식한다. 다른 무화과앵무처럼 수관부 높이에서 채이며 먹이를 구하고, 강한 부리로 무화과를 잘라 씨앗과 과육을 먹는다.
