인도물떼새: 23–25 cm, 굵은 흰 눈썹선과 밤색 머리, 검은 눈선을 가진 우아한 황갈색-밤색의 물떼새. 인도 아대륙의 건조하고 개방된 돌밭·모래밭 평원, 휴경지, 강둑에 텃새로 산다. 황혼형 곤충식성. 빠르게 달린다. 정착성이거나 비 뒤를 따라 국지적으로 유목한다.
