소개

히말라야 서부의 풀이 무성한 언덕 경사면 관목지와 삼림 가장자리에 사는 대형 Phasianidae 꿩(약 1.33 kg). 수컷과 암컷 모두 굵은 줄무늬 회갈색이며, 수컷은 섬세하게 줄무늬가 있는 긴 꼬리를 가진다. 풀 새싹, 뿌리, 무척추동물을 먹는다. 서식지 훼손과 인간 교란으로 취약종이다.
