멕시코 바하 칼리포르니아 수르 케이프 지역에 고유한 중간 크기의 벌새(9~10cm)입니다. 녹색 깃털에 붉은 밤색 가슴과 흰 눈 줄무늬가 특징입니다. 건조 관목과 가시 숲의 꿀을 먹습니다. 헝가리 박물학자 존 잰투스의 이름을 딴 바하 칼리포르니아 고유종입니다.
