콜롬비아 서부 안데스의 서쪽 사면에 고유하게 서식하는 화려한 벌새(몸 10cm + 수컷 꼬리 13cm). 수컷은 연하늘색-보라색 꼬리가 특징이다. 꽃의 꿀과 작은 곤충을 먹는다.
