소개

The Caroline Reed-warbler (<em>Acrocephalus syrinx</em>) is a member of the family Acrocephalidae and is endemic to forest habitats in the Caroline Islands of Micronesia. Unlike many of its wetland-associated congeners, this species inhabits forested environments on its island range. Detailed plumage and behavioral descriptions of this species are limited in the available literature. Nesting records indicate it builds a suspended or pendant nest (SP), a less common nest type within the genus, and typically lays a clutch of 2 eggs. The Caroline Reed-warbler is currently assessed as Least Concern, though island endemics are inherently at risk from habitat disturbance and introduced predators. The suspended nest type may represent an adaptation to its arboreal forest environment, differentiating it from the cup nests more commonly constructed by reed-nesting Acrocephalus species. Further ecological surveys would help clarify the status and natural history of this relatively understudied Pacific warbler.
