Polioptilidae

Gnatcatchers and gnatwrens; ~20 species of tiny, long-tailed insectivores found in the Americas. Active, vocal, and restless. Males are grey or blue-grey with white underparts; often have distinctive black facial markings or caps. Inhabit a variety of woodland, scrub, and riparian habitats.
