Parrotbills; ~20 species of small, social birds found in East and Southeast Asia. Named for their short, deep, parrot-like bills adapted for cracking bamboo stems and seeds. Live in flocks in bamboo thickets and dense grass. Most diverse in the Himalayas and the mountains of China.
