About These Birds
Eurasian Nuthatch
Sitta europaea(ゴジュウカラ)は巣穴の入口を泥で狭めて天敵を防ぐ。
Bahama Nuthatch
The Bahama Nuthatch is a Critically Endangered nuthatch endemic to the pine forests of Grand Bahama Island, weighing about 9.95g with a wingspan of 13cm. It forages on tree bark for insects and larvae, creeping headfirst down trunks in typical nuthatch fashion. Habitat destruction and introduced predators have severely reduced its population.
