African River Martin
The African River Martin is a data-deficient swallow of the Hirundinidae family, with a wingspan of about 24 cm and a weight of 26 g. It is a poorly known species of the Congo River basin, roosting in vast numbers on sandy river islands during the dry season.

北半球全域で繁殖し、南方で越冬するツバメ（体長12〜13cm）。褐色の上面と白い下面に褐色の胸帯が特徴。Riparia riparia（ショウドウツバメ）は砂の崖や土手に自分でトンネルを掘って巣を作るコロニー繁殖鳥で、大きなコロニーは何千もの巣穴がある壮観な光景を見せる。Hirundinidae科。
