The Black-breasted Barbet is a large, boldly patterned barbet of sub-Saharan African open woodland and savanna, with its black breast band contrasting with red throat, yellow sides of the face, and blue facial markings. It ranges across a broad belt of Central Africa from South Sudan and Ethiopia west to Nigeria. It feeds on figs and other fruits as well as insects.
