ヨーロッパ・アジアで繁殖しアフリカ・南アジアで越冬するムシクイ（体長10〜12cm）。オリーブ緑色の地味な羽色だが「チッフ・チャフ」という独特の鳴き声が名前の由来。Phylloscopus collybita（チフチャフ）はヨーロッパで春最初に到来する渡り鳥の一つとして知られ、春の訪れを告げる鳥とされている。Phylloscopidae科。
