A large, boldly patterned Phasianidae pheasant (~1.82 kg) of lowland dipterocarp forests in peninsular Malaysia. Males display chestnut-orange plumage, a curled blue-black crest, and cobalt-blue facial skin. Feeds on fallen fruits, seeds, and small invertebrates. Vulnerable from accelerating lowland forest clearance.
