About These Birds
Western Crowned-pigeon
Magnificent large pigeon, 66–73 cm, with blue-grey plumage, a maroon breast, and an elaborate fan-shaped white-tipped crest. Found in lowland rainforest of western New Guinea (Vogelkop and surrounding areas). Terrestrial frugivore of fallen fruits, seeds, and invertebrates. Vulnerable due to hunting for meat and feathers and deforestation.

セラム山バト（Gymnophaps stalkeri）、体長35 cm。ブル山バトに類似；赤みがかった栗色の下面を持つ暗灰色。インドネシア・マルク州セラム島固有種。標高900 m以上の山地林に生息。果食性。絶滅危惧種；intact高山林に依存した島固有種。
