A medium-sized turaco (40-45 cm) endemic to montane forests of the Albertine Rift in East Africa, particularly the Rwenzori Mountains, at 2,100-3,600 m. Dark blue-black plumage with a crimson crest. Frugivore of montane forest. A high-altitude African forest specialist.

Hartlaub's Turaco

A small turaco (38-41 cm) found in montane forests of East Africa from Kenya to Tanzania at 1,200-3,500 m. Deep violet-blue plumage with green body, white face patch, and crimson wing patches. Frugivore of montane forest. Named after the German ornithologist Gustav Hartlaub.
