Red-fronted Coot
Red-fronted Coot (Fulica rufifrons) is a 36–42 cm coot of South America's Andean and southern marshes, from Argentina and Chile north to Bolivia. All-black plumage with a conspicuous bright red frontal shield and white bill. Inhabits large open freshwater lakes with reed margins. Feeds on aquatic vegetation by diving and dabbling. Locally common.

ハダカメクラクイナ(Gymnocrex plumbeiventris)はモルッカ諸島・ニューギニア地域に生息するクイナ(体長27〜31 cm)。腹面は灰色、背面は褐色、目の周囲に特徴的な裸出した赤橙色の顔面皮膚。低地雨林・二次林・水辺の林縁に生息。隠遁性が強く、落葉を歩いて無脊椎動物・小型脊椎動物を採食。
