Tristan Albatross, 100–110 cm, wingspan 250–300 cm, breeds only on Gough Island in the South Atlantic — one of the world's most isolated islands. Critically Endangered; mouse predation on eggs and chicks is causing severe decline. Pelagic across the South Atlantic; piscivore and squid feeder.
Short-tailed Albatross
太平洋に生息するアホウドリで、20世紀初頭に羽毛採取のための乱獲で絶滅寸前まで追い込まれた。現在は伊豆諸島の鳥島などで繁殖し、保護活動により個体数が回復している。
