ブラックビルドカッコウ(Coccyzus erythropthalmus)は北アメリカ東部に生息するカッコウです。黒い嘴と赤い眼輪が特徴的です。夏はカナダ南部から米国東部で繁殖し、冬は南アメリカへ渡ります。自分で巣を作り子育てをします。

Lesser Roadrunner

Lesser Roadrunner (Geococcyx velox) — 46–52 cm. Similar to Greater Roadrunner but smaller with a more streaked breast. Found in dry scrub, open woodland, and arid valleys from Mexico to Nicaragua. Non-parasitic; carnivorous; eats insects and small vertebrates. Shares the same terrestrial running lifestyle as its northern relative.
