バーチェルズ・カッコウ (Centropus burchellii) — 37〜42 cm。栗色の背;黒い頭部と尾;白い下面;白い眉斑。南部アフリカの丈高い草地・林縁・庭園に生息。非托卵性;密な草地に大型ドーム状巣を作る。雑食性;鳴き声が雨天と結び付けられ「雨鳥」とも呼ばれる。
