About These Birds

African Red-rumped Swallow

体重約26gのアフリカの開けた地・岩場に生息するツバメ科の鳥。赤褐色の腰と下尾筒が特徴。

Collared Sand Martin

北半球全域で繁殖し、南方で越冬するツバメ（体長12〜13cm）。褐色の上面と白い下面に褐色の胸帯が特徴。Riparia riparia（ショウドウツバメ）は砂の崖や土手に自分でトンネルを掘って巣を作るコロニー繁殖鳥で、大きなコロニーは何千もの巣穴がある壮観な光景を見せる。Hirundinidae科。
