北米で繁殖し、中南米で越冬するツグミ（体長15〜17cm）。オリーブ褐色の上面と斑点のある胸が特徴。Catharus ustulatus（スウェインソンツグミ）は複雑で美しい鳴き声を持ち、夜間に渡りをする渡り鳥。高い声で上昇するスパイラルの歌声は野鳥ファンの間で特に愛されている。Turdidae科。
