クロアタマヒヨドリはヒマラヤ東部からインドシナ本土を経て大スンダ列島にかけての低地と亜山地の林・林縁・二次林に生息する、光沢ある黒い頭部・鮮やかな黄緑色の体の羽毛・特徴的な表情を与える青灰色の眼周皮膚を持つ中型のヒヨドリ。林冠と中層でベリー・小果実・昆虫を食べる。
