フィリピン全土の低地と山地林に生息する中型のガマグチヨタカ（24〜27cm）。細かい白い斑点を持つ赤褐色の羽毛。夜行性の昆虫食者。性的二型が見られ、赤褐色型と褐色型がある。海面から標高2,000mまで生息する。
