フィリピンのパラワン島固有の中型のガマグチヨタカ。暗い赤褐色の羽毛を持つ。低地原生林の夜行性昆虫食者。最も知られていないガマグチヨタカのひとつ。フレデリック・チェイセンにちなんで命名。生態データが限られている。
