バートラムシギ:体長28〜32cm、小さなハトのような頭・大きな暗い目・細い嘴を持つ長頸の草地シギ。北米のトールグラス草原と混合草原で繁殖;南米のパンパスへ驚異的な渡りを行う。昆虫食の草地無脊椎動物食者。草原喪失により減少。長距離渡り鳥。
