アラビアチメドリはアラビア半島と周辺の乾燥地帯に生息する社会性の強い小鳥で、体重約73g、翼開長約22cm。家族群で協力して縄張りを守り、子育てを共同で行うことから、協同繁殖研究の古典的な研究対象となっている。砂褐色の鱗状羽毛は、生息する岩礫砂漠と灌木地によく溶け込む。
Black-hooded Laughingthrush
The Black-hooded Laughingthrush is a medium-sized laughingthrush with a deep black hood covering the head and upper breast, contrasting with its brown and rufous body plumage. It is endemic to the highlands of Vietnam, inhabiting dense montane forest and bamboo thickets at elevations above 1,000 meters. It forages in noisy flocks through the undergrowth for insects, berries, and small invertebrates.
