ヨーロッパから西アジアにかけて繁殖するタヒバリ（体長14〜15cm）。褐色の縦縞模様と細い嘴が特徴で、草地を歩きながら虫を捕食する。Anthus pratensis（タヒバリ）は草原、湿地、農地などの開けた環境を好み、歩行時に尾を頻繁に上下させる。カッコウの托卵の宿主となることもある。Motacillidae科。
