Anna's Hummingbird
Anna's hummingbird is the most common hummingbird along the Pacific coast and one of only three species resident in the United States year-round. Males perform spectacular dive displays, plummeting from 40 meters and pulling up with a loud chirp produced by tail feathers. Their body temperature can drop to near ambient at night to conserve energy.

独特に反り上がったキリ状の嘴を持つ小型のハチドリ（8〜9cm）。緑色の羽毛と燃えるようなオレンジ赤色の尾を持つ。ベネズエラ東部からギアナを経てアマゾニアにかけての湿潤低地林に生息する。蜜と昆虫を食べる。同属唯一の種。
