About These Birds

Anna's Hummingbird

Anna's hummingbird is the most common hummingbird along the Pacific coast and one of only three species resident in the United States year-round. Their body temperature can drop to near ambient at night to conserve energy.

Green-throated Mango

A large hummingbird (12-13 cm) found in northeastern South America from Venezuela to Brazil. Males bright green with a deep green throat bordered by blue. Nectarivore of mangroves, coastal scrub, and forest edges. Often found in semi-open habitats near water.
