地中海沿岸からアジアにかけての岩場・崖に生息するツグミ(体長21〜23cm)。雄は青い体に赤褐色の腹が美しく、雌は褐色の縦縞模様。Monticola solitarius(イソヒヨドリ)は日本でも海岸・港・都市部の岩場に生息し、近年では内陸の市街地での繁殖も増加している。澄んだ美しい歌声を持つ。Turdidae科。
