北半球の針葉樹林に広く分布するフィンチ(体長14〜17cm)。上下にずれて交差した嘴が最大の特徴で、特に松ぼっくりの種子を取り出すために進化した。Loxia curvirostra(イスカ)は種子の豊凶によって不規則に各地へ移動し、日本でも不定期に飛来する。繁殖地は固定せず種子のある場所に移動して繁殖する。Fringillidae科。
