White-tufted Grebe

White-tufted Grebe (Rollandia rolland) is a small 22–27 cm grebe of southern South America, from Peru and Bolivia south to Tierra del Fuego. Dark brown with distinctive white facial tufts extending from cheeks; chestnut neck sides. Inhabits freshwater lakes, bogs, and slow rivers. Partially migratory; nomadic in austral winter.

Least Grebe (Tachybaptus dominicus) is the smallest New World grebe at 21–27 cm. Dark grey overall in breeding plumage with yellow eye, blackish cap, and short bill. Inhabits small freshwater ponds, ditches, and marshes from the southern USA through Central and South America to northern Argentina. Feeds on small fish and aquatic invertebrates.
