Aleutian Tern
Aleutian Tern, 32–34 cm, breeds colonially in Alaska and Russian Far East, wintering in Southeast Asian waters — one of the most poorly tracked migrations among seabirds. Dark grey above, white below, black cap with white forehead. Piscivore; dives for small fish. Near Threatened.
Peruvian Tern
Peruvian Tern, 23–25 cm, is an Endangered tern restricted to the Humboldt Current coastline of Peru and northern Chile. White forehead, yellow bill, grey above. Breeds on barren coastal deserts and fishmeal industry areas. Severely threatened by habitat disturbance and introduced predators.
