Black-crowned Pitta
The Black-crowned Pitta is a small, brilliantly colored pitta of lowland forests in Borneo, with a glossy black crown and nape, blue wings, scarlet underparts, and vivid patterning. It inhabits the dense undergrowth of primary lowland and foothill rainforests, rarely venturing into secondary growth. It feeds on earthworms, snails, insects, and other invertebrates found on the forest floor.
