The Bar-crested Antshrike is a medium-sized antbird of the family Thamnophilidae found in dense forest undergrowth and secondary growth in Colombia and Venezuela. Weighing about 26.3g with a wingspan of 14.3cm, males have a finely barred crest and black-and-white streaked plumage. It forages through dense vegetation for large insects.
