The Bar-winged Flycatcher-shrike is a small passerine of the family Vangidae found in forests and forest edges from the Himalayas through Southeast Asia to Sumatra. Weighing about 9.2g with a wingspan of 12.1cm, it has black-and-white plumage with a distinctive white wing-bar. It forages in the canopy and sub-canopy, sallying for insects and joining mixed-species flocks.
