A large cracid (~1.4 kg) of family Cracidae, with a prominent white supercilium. Endemic to the caatinga scrublands and dry forests of northeastern Brazil. Inhabits dry deciduous forests, gallery forest, and scrubby vegetation. Arboreal frugivore. Vulnerable; one of the few large cracids adapted to Brazil's semi-arid caatinga, threatened by habitat loss and hunting.
