Sulawesi Woodcock: 32–36 cm, woodcock endemic to montane forest of Sulawesi, Indonesia. Nocturnal with cryptic brown plumage. Inhabits mossy forest above 1,000 m; probes leaf litter and soft soil for invertebrates. NT. Threatened by logging and agricultural conversion of highland forest. Sedentary island endemic.

Grey-tailed Tattler: 24–27 cm, plain grey sandpiper with yellow legs and a faint supercilium. Breeds on stony rivers of northeastern Siberia; winters on rocky shores, reef platforms, and mudflats of Southeast Asia, Australia, and Pacific Islands. Bobs body when walking. NT. Feeds on invertebrates. Long-distance migrant.
