Large, pheasant-like pigeon, 42–46 cm, with iridescent green wings, black body, a white collar, and a distinctive long black tail held upright. Inhabits the floor of lowland and hill rainforest in New Guinea and the Aru Islands. Terrestrial frugivore. Walks through the forest like a small pheasant. Least Concern.

Pohnpei Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus ponapensis), 22 cm. Green with a lilac head and an orange-yellow breast; endemic to Pohnpei, Micronesia. Occupies primary forest above 200 m on this volcanic island. Frugivore. Vulnerable; total range barely exceeds 100 km².
