About These Birds
Blackish Chat-tyrant
The Blackish Chat-tyrant is a small, compact flycatcher with almost uniformly dark slaty-blackish plumage, a pale eye ring, and slightly paler underparts. It inhabits wet cloud forest, forest edges, and shrubby páramo in the Andes from Colombia south to Bolivia, typically at elevations between 2,000 and 3,500 meters. It perches low, sallying to the ground or hovering to catch small insects.
Bay-ringed Tyrannulet
The Bay-ringed Tyrannulet is a small flycatcher of the Atlantic Forest in southeastern Brazil and northeastern Argentina. It has a brownish-olive plumage with faint wing bars and a subtle eye ring. It forages actively in forest canopy and edges, gleaning insects from foliage.
