Medium-large terrestrial pigeon, 30–34 cm, dark brown with a white forehead and extensive bronze-green iridescence on the wings. Inhabits lowland and hill rainforest in New Guinea, typically on the forest floor. Feeds on seeds, fallen fruits, and invertebrates. Least Concern.

Pohnpei Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus ponapensis), 22 cm. Green with a lilac head and an orange-yellow breast; endemic to Pohnpei, Micronesia. Occupies primary forest above 200 m on this volcanic island. Frugivore. Vulnerable; total range barely exceeds 100 km².
