Oriental Pratincole: 22–24 cm, brown-and-white pratincole with a cream throat bordered by black, forked tail, and long sickle wings. Breeds on dry grassland and open flats from India to Southeast Asia and China; migrates to Australia and sub-Saharan Africa in non-breeding season. Aerial insectivore. Long-distance migrant.

Bronze-winged Courser: 25–28 cm, large nocturnal courser with glossy bronze wing-coverts, dark brown upperparts, and a red eye-ring. Resident in dry miombo and acacia woodland of sub-Saharan Africa from Senegal to Ethiopia and south to Zimbabwe. Insectivorous; most active at night. Cryptic and difficult to see in daytime.
