The Black-crowned Pitta is a small, brilliantly colored pitta of lowland forests in Borneo, with a glossy black crown and nape, blue wings, scarlet underparts, and vivid patterning. It feeds on earthworms, snails, insects, and other invertebrates found on the forest floor.
