About These Birds

Inhabits dry open plains and semi-desert. Insectivorous; runs rapidly on long legs. Largely sedentary in semi-arid habitat. Resembles Cream-coloured Courser.
Black-winged Pratincole

Breeds on dry steppes of Kazakhstan and southern Russia; migrates to winter in sub-Saharan Africa. NT. Aerial insectivore. Declining due to steppe cultivation. Long-distance migrant.
