About These Birds
Black-faced Antthrush
The Black-faced Antthrush is a plump, short-tailed bird with rich brown upperparts, a black face and throat, and barred rusty-buff flanks, walking with a characteristic bobbing motion. It inhabits humid tropical forests from Mexico through Central America to Bolivia and Brazil, staying almost exclusively on the forest floor. It feeds on insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates, often following army ant swarms.
